Terms and Conditions

When completing this form, students or parents/guardians acknowledge
they are signing up for lessons for the current school year’s duration
or it’s remainder and bound to the below Terms and Conditions.
 

A minimum number of lessons each term will be charged, regardless of the
student’s attendance. The term minimums will be:
– Term 1 : 8 lessons – Term 2 : 8 lessons
– Term 3 : 8 lessons – Term 4 : 7 lessons
Our Terms follow the School Calendar.
Terms are charged ahead, if you join mid-term, the invoice will be adjusted
by the number of weeks left in the term
Parent/caregiver may terminate the arrangement part way through the
year by giving three lessons’ written notice via email to Guitar City Music
School’s admin, notifying Tutors only, does not qualify as notice.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED UNLESS CANCELED WITHIN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS
OF TERM, THE BALANCE PAST NOTICE PERIOD THEN WILL BE REFUNDED.
Tutors should be informed as to whether the student will attend the three
final lessons. However, they are chargeable irrespective of attendance by
the student. Please make sure you advise us if you / your child does not
continue into the next term.

Lessons missed by students:
If a student is unable to attend a lesson for any reason such as illness, the
tutor or Guitar City Music School must be notified on the day by 7am the
latest, or the lesson will be charged. Lessons missed by students will not
necessarily be made up, if notice of absence is given past 7am or not given
at all, the lesson is forfeited.

Lessons missed by Tutors:
In the event of a Tutor being unavailable to attend (due to illness, public
holidays, or absence), A reliever will be provided, the lesson will be made
up, or the minimum adjusted accordingly into next term.

Band Programme:
The sessions will be 45 minutes long during school terms , time slot tbc by
the tutor, cost is $290 per term GST inclusive, when signing up mid term the
sessions charged will be adjusted by the number of weeks left in the term,
if you already learn from us, or are signing up siblings a 10% discount
applies, sessions missed are non-refundable, no catch ups will be provided
due to the complex scheduling admin of the programme.

RENTING AN INSTRUMENT:
Guitars and ukuleles can be rented for $12 week for a minimum of 5 weeks,
A BOND OF $50 APPLIES, TO BE CREDITED AGAINST THE NEXT INVOICE FOR
LESSONS, UPON US RECEIVING THE LEASED ITEM BACK, THE AMOUNT MAY
BE RETAINED TO COVER COSTS FOR DAMAGES DONE OR STRINGS
REPLACEMENT.

Extraordinary:
Where, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to offer
face to face lessons, online lessons will be offered. Should a student elect
not to have their lesson provided online for the remainder of the term, the
balance of the term’s fees may be forfeited but only up to a maximum of
the fees for 5 lessons. If Guitar City is unable to or chooses not to offer
online lessons a credit for the number of lessons involved will be offered on
the next billing cycle.
